Biography
During the 2025/26 season, Suzanne Jerosme performs on numerous European stages. She opens the season with a recital at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival with Jörg Halubek and Il Gusto Barocco. She then sings Bellezza in Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno by Handel with Orpheus Baroque Stockholm under the direction of Julio Caballero Pérez, and subsequently takes the title role in Athalia on tour in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy with Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.
She sings Idaspe in Tamerlano by Handel at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and in Madrid with Les Accents under the direction of Thibault Noally, performs in Bologna in the Coronation Mass by Mozart alongside Ton Koopman, reprises the role of Almirenain Rinaldo at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, interprets Stabat Mater by Pergolesi with Ottavio Dantone and the Accademia Bizantina, sings the Leçons de Ténèbres by Couperin with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques, participates in Israel in Egypt by Handel at the Halle Handel Festival, and will sing Inès in La Favorite by Donizetti at the Konzerthaus Dortmund. She will also perform Blanche de la Force in Les Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc at the Karlsruhe of Karlsruhe and will sing in Didone Abbandonata by Jommelli at the Ludwigsburg Festival, conducted by Francesco Corti. She will also be heard in the title role of Semele by Handel in Bologna with conductor Rinaldo Alessandrini, at La Chaise-Dieu and again in Beaune in the role of Bellezza in Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno.
During the 2024/25 season, she performed Angelo in La Resurrezione by Handel at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées with Le Concert de La Loge and in Beaune with Le Banquet Céleste, Zelmira in Armida at the Hans Otto Theater with the Kammerakademie Potsdam, as well as Mimì in La Bohème at the Theater Aachen. In the summer of 2025, she sang Pilade in Ifigenia in Tauride by Traetta at the Innsbruck Early Music Festival under the direction of Christophe Rousset, and performed Almirena in Rinaldo by Handel at the Karlsruhe Handel Festival, under the direction of Rinaldo Alessandrini.
She regularly performs in the Baroque repertoire on European stages and festivals, notably at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, the Innsbruck Early Music Festival, and the Halle Handel Festival. She notably performed Giuditta (Carlo il Calvo by Porpora) under the direction of George Petrou, a production later performed in concert at the Theater an der Wien, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and La Scala in Milan. A finalist of the Pietro Antonio Cesti International Baroque Opera Singing Competition, she was invited to perform the title role of Octavia by Reinhard Keiser in Innsbruck. She also sings Morgana in Alcina at the Opéra National de Lorraine under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón, Amore and Valletto in L’incoronazione di Poppea with the Ensemble Matheus conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi, l’Ange in La Vierge by Massenet at the Klangvokal Musikfestival Dortmund and Sophie in Werther with the WDR Funkhausorchester under the direction of Giacomo Sagripanti as well as the First Lady in the French version of The Magic Flute under the direction of Hervé Niquet at the Opéra d’Avignon and the Opéra Royal de Versailles.
After studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Suzanne Jerosme was hired as a permanent member of the Theater Aachen ensemble, where she remained until the 2023/24 season. There she performed a wide repertoire, including Manon, Mimì, Susanna, Contessa di Folleville, Blanche de la Force, Lauretta, Poppea, and La Calisto.
Her discography includes the title role in Cleofida, Königin von Indien (Handel/Telemann) with Il Gusto Barocco under the direction of Jörg Halubek, as well as Lindor und Ismene by Schmittbaur with Arte del Mondo conducted by Werner Ehrhardt. She also participated in recordings of Carlo il Calvo by Porpora, The Magic Flute by Mozart under Hervé Niquet, as well as Rex Salomon and Ifigenia in Tauride by Traetta under Christophe Rousset. She recorded a disc dedicated to Maurice Ravel with pianist François-Xavier Poizat, and collaborated with Valentin Tournet and La Chapelle Harmonique for the recording in Versailles of the album À l’Imitation des Maîtres. In October 2025, her first solo recital, Il Generoso Cor, was released, in which she presents the works of two Italian composers, Camilla de Rossi and Maria Margherita Grimani, alongside Jörg Halubek and his ensemble Il Gusto Barocco.
