We are thrilled to begin rehearsals for our new production of Floridante, opening in Athens on 6 July 2026 as part of the new Bayreuth Baroque 2026 production.
Max Emanuel Cencic is staging this new production and sings the title role. Markellos Chryssicos conducts and directs from the hardsichord, joined by Eva Zalenga as Rossane, Sonja Runje as Elmira, our own Bruno de Sá as Timante, Roman Chabaranok as Oronte, and Yannis Francois as Coralbo.
The production is staged with set design by the late Helmut Stürmer, costumes by Corina Gramosteanu, lighting by Christoph Pöschko, and assistance from Constantina Psoma and Dimitra Antonaki.
The Wrocław Baroque Orchestra serves as Orchestra in Residence of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival 2026, with performances on 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13 September at the UNESCO World Heritage Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth.
