This September, Bayreuth Baroque presents a new production of Georg Friedrich Handel’s Floridante, directed by Max Emanuel Cencic and under the baton of Markellos Chryssicos. A rarely performed masterpiece filled with love, political intrigue, jealousy and hidden identities.

A co-production of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival and the International Handel Festival Karlsruhe, the production brings together an outstanding international cast and creative team.

The Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Resident Orchestra of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival 2026, provides the musical foundation for this new production.

Performed in Italian with German and English surtitles, Floridante promises an evening of exceptional Baroque music and gripping theatrical drama in the unique setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Margravial Opera House Bayreuth.
