New in Parnassus: Marlene Metzger – soprano

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝘇𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

Born into a musical family and shaped by ten formative years in the children’s choir of the Komische Oper Berlin, Marlene Metzger is an artist of rare depth, intelligence, and stage instinct. Her performances are marked by radiant vocalism, theatrical clarity, and a deep musicality that continues to turn heads.

A graduate of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Royal Danish Academy of Music (2023), she was a finalist in both the 2020 Bundeswettbewerb Gesang and 2024 Neue Stimmen.Read More

Maayan Licht as Cherubino in a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro at the Dortmund Opera

Since 21 September 2025, our wonderful Parnassus Arts Productions artist, Maayan Licht, male sopranist, has been performing the role of Cherubino in a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro at the Dortmund Opera. Under the musical direction of Jordan de Souza and stage direction by Vincent Boussard, further performances of Le Nozze di Figaro featuring Maayan Licht as Cherubino are scheduled from 10 October 2025 to 4 January 2026.Read More

Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival: Sixth edition ended on September 14 with Francesco Cavalli’s Pompeo Magno – 2026 with rediscovery of a Handel opera

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the sixth edition of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival came to an end. Eleven festival days full of baroque splendor once again attracted several thousand visitors from all over the world to Bayreuth. With the rediscovery of Francesco Cavalli’s Pompeo Magno, the festival, under the artistic direction of Max Emanuel Cencic, presented a production acclaimed equally by the public and critics. Cavalli specialist Leonardo García Alarcón, together with his Cappella Mediterranea as resident orchestra, held the musical direction. Parnassus Arts Productions has taken over the management of the wonderful German baritone Martin Häßler.

In recent years, Martin has sung at the Vienna State Opera in roles such as Donner (Das Rheingold), Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), Schaunard (La Bohème), Ping (Turandot), Fritz Kothner (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Masetto, Brétigny, and many more. His operatic repertoire further includes roles such as Don Giovanni, Leporello, Mr. Flint, Marcello, Wagner (Faust), the Herald (Lohengrin), Papageno, Count Almaviva, Guglielmo, Gunther, Sharpless, among others.Read More

Since August 8, 2025, our exclusive Parnassus Arts Productions artist, Dennis Orellana, sopranist, has been singing the role of Irina in the new production Three Sisters (opera in three sequences by Peter Eötvös) at the world-renowned Salzburg Festival 2025.
