Born into a musical family and shaped by ten formative years in the childrenโs choir of the Komische Oper Berlin, Marlene Metzger is an artist of rare depth, intelligence, and stage instinct. Her performances are marked by radiant vocalism, theatrical clarity, and a deep musicality that continues to turn heads.
A graduate of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Royal Danish Academy of Music (2023), she was a finalist in both the 2020 Bundeswettbewerb Gesang and 2024 Neue Stimmen.
Since 2023, Marlene has been a member of the Young Artist Program at the Royal Danish Opera, where her growing repertoire has included:
- Servilia (La clemenza di Tito)
- First Lady (Die Zauberflรถte)
- Najade (Ariadne auf Naxos)
- Suor Dolcina (Il trittico)
- Tebaldo (Don Carlo)
- Ottone (Griselda, May 2025) โ a breakout performance praised by OperaWire as โa remarkable displayโ of her โfresh, bright, youthful voiceโฆ with considerable versatility.โ
Sheโs already made appearances at the (Young Singers Project 2025), Lucerne Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, and Theater Lรผbeck. Her portrayal of Pamina and Gretel, as well as the lead in Frank Schwemmerโs Atlantis Code (written for her), highlight her range from classic to contemporary.
