Since 21 September 2025, our wonderful Parnassus Arts Productions artist, Maayan Licht, male sopranist, has been performing the role of Cherubino in a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro at the Dortmund Opera. Under the musical direction of Jordan de Souza and stage direction by Vincent Boussard, further performances of Le Nozze di Figaro featuring Maayan Licht as Cherubino are scheduled from 10 October 2025 to 4 January 2026.
Maayan is the winner of the “Best Newcomer” prize at the prestigious International Oper! Awards 2025 and has since been recognized as one of the most exciting emerging voices in today’s opera scene. Maayan Licht is also a social media phenomenon, reaching millions of views and likes across various platforms with daily posts, thereby attracting a new audience to classical music.
In addition to the role of Cherubino at the opera houses in Dortmund and Brno (where, starting on 28 October 2025, the revival of last season’s successful Le Nozze production is scheduled), Maayan Licht will appear in concert in Wilhelminaoord (5 October), at Theater Hildesheim (20 October), at the Tbilisi Baroque Festival (7 December), and at the opening concert of the International Handel Festival in Karlsruhe at the Badisches Staatstheater (21 February).
In October 2025, Maayan will perform in Amsterdam in Car-Men, in November 2025 in the concert production Requiem in Den Bosch. As Laertes (Ambleto), Maayan will appear in November at the Festival Lodi, and in December 2025 will tour Israel with Avner Biron.
In March 2026, Maayan Licht will perform at the Dutch National Opera; in April 2026, Maayan will sing the title role of Alessandro in Vinci’s Alessandro nell’Indie at the Musiktheater an der Wien.
