Since 7 December 2025, Parnassus Arts Productions exclusive artist Franko Klisovic has been shining as Farnace in the new production of Mitridate, re di Ponto at Oper Frankfurt. A further seven performances of the Claus Guth staging, conducted by Leo Hussain, will be presented in Frankfurt through 10 January 2026, featuring our Franko Klisovic as Farnace.
Franko Klisovic is already familiar with this Mitridate production from Teatro Real Madrid, where he made his debut as Arbate in the 2024/25 season and had the opportunity to cover and study the role of Farnace, which he is now performing in Frankfurt. Other highlights of the 2024/25 season included the production Der Protagonist at Teatro Malibran in Venice, his role debut as Orlofsky in a new production of Die Fledermaus at the HNK Zagreb, the role of Arbace in Handel’s Partenope at Oper Frankfurt, the role of Tolomeo (Giulio Cesare) at the Opera Ostrava and the Znojmo Festival, as well as concerts in Darmstadt, Budapest, Babenhausen, Split and many more.
Upcoming engagements for Franko Klisovic this season include Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) in Zagreb, Gandarte (Poro, re dell’Indie) at the Opera Rara Festival Kraków, the alto part in Messiah at the Musikverein Vienna, participation in the Orff Trilogy at the Opera Ljubljana, Carmina Burana at the Dubrovnik Festival, among others.
Franko Klisovic’s repertoire ranges from Baroque music and roles such as Ottone (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Arcane (Teseo), Roma + Religione (Il Sant’Alessio) or Hamor (Jephtha) through Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti, all the way to contemporary works. He sang Ottone in 2023 at the Wuppertal Bühnen, Arcane in 2024 at the Halle Handel Festival, Roma and Religione at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and Smeton (Anna Bolena) at HNK Rijeka. He also performed Apollo (Death in Venice) and the contemporary opera Zusammenstoß at Theater Heidelberg.
In November 2025, Franko Klisovic conducted a production of Messiah in Osijek. Messiah, again conducted by Franko Klisovic, will be presented in December 2025 in Krk.
