On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Parnassus Arts Productions’ exclusive artist, Dennis Orellana (male soprano), won the first edition of the Farinelli Competition for countertenors, newly founded by opera director Christoph von Bernuth.
As part of the 47th International Handel Festival in Karlsruhe, the world’s first singing competition for countertenors was held at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe: For the 1st Farinelli Competition for countertenors, in honor of the most famous singer of this category, nearly 50 singers applied, of whom 23 presented themselves before a prestigious five-member jury in the first internal preliminary round. The final, broadcast live, was a great success for our Dennis Orellana, to whom we extend our heartfelt congratulations!

Dennis Orellana will sing arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at his concert in Constance on April 5, 2025. In May and June 2025, Dennis Orellana can be seen at the Musiktheater an der Wien in two roles: As Ernesto, Dennis will perform on May 13, 2025, in the concert version of Bononcini’s opera Griselda under Benjamin Bayl with the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra. From June 5 to 26, 2025, Dennis will sing the title role in Marianna Martines’ opera Isaaco, conducted by Chiara Catani and staged by Eva-Maria Höckmayr at the Kammeroper.
For his role debut as Irina in the new production Tri Sestri, Dennis returns to the Salzburger Festspiele. At the Felsenreitschule in Salzburg, Dennis will perform on August 8, 12, 21, and 24, 2025, under the musical direction of Maxime Pascal and in the production by Evgeny Titov.
