The exceptionally gifted Honduran soprano Dennis Orellana, an exclusive artist of Parnassus Arts Productions, has established himself within a very short time as one of the most exciting young voices on the international Baroque and Classical music scene. Dennis has already appeared at major opera houses and festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, La Scala in Milan, the Theater an der Wien, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Dortmund Concert Hall, and the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, where he received great acclaim in roles such as Berardo (Carlo il Calvo), Ernesto (Griselda), Teseo (Teseo), Sifare (Mitridate, re di Ponto), and Cavalier Ramiro (La finta giardiniera).
In February 2026, Dennis will make his debut at the International Handel Festival at the Badisches Staatstheater, appearing as Meleagro (Atalanta) and in the Countertenor Gala. He will also return to Bayreuth Baroque in autumn 2026, performing together with Maayan Licht and Federico Fiorio in The Sopranists under the direction of Markellos Chryssicos. Following his role debut as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duisburg, Dennis will make his role debut as Poro in Alessandro nell’Indie in April 2026, in a production directed by Max Emanuel Cencic and under the musical direction of Martyna Pastuszka at the Theater an der Wien. As Tigrane in Handel’s Radamisto, Dennis will return to the Handel Festival in Halle after having sung the title role of Teseo there in 2024. He will also perform his signature role of Bellezza in Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno at the Potsdam Sanssouci Palace Festival.
“In the highest vocal register, the phenomenal soprano Dennis Orellana as Bellezza, endowed with a full-bodied, flawless timbre that in no way falls short of that of a female singer. He does not appear at all like a countertenor (and probably is not one). He was the focal point of the performance, also in the manner of his appearance, with his graceful, youthful presence.”
Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR)
Dennis is looking forward to a mix of role debuts and familiar repertoire, including Isaaco, which he will perform again during the upcoming season.
