Rafał Tomkiewicz joins Parnassus Arts Productions

We are very pleased to announce that Parnassus Arts Productions has taken on the worldwide management of the Polish countertenor Rafał Tomkiewicz.

Rafał Tomkiewicz completed his studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 2018, where he studied with Professor Artur Stefanowicz. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Opera Academy of the Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera in Warsaw. In 2018, he was a finalist of the prestigious Cesti Competition in Innsbruck, dedicated to early music.

In the 2025/26 season, Rafał will sing leading roles such as Giulio Cesare in Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Handel), Poro in Poro, Re dell’Indie (Handel), and Athamas in Semele (Handel) at the Opera Rara Festival.

Recent engagements include Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) at Oper Graz; La Virtù in Vivaldi’s La Senna festeggiante at the Royal Opera of Versailles as part of the Concert of the Three Countertenors; Unulfo in Handel’s Rodelinda at Oper Frankfurt, MusikTheater an der Wien, and the Sala Santa Cecilia; Farnace in Mozart’s Mitridate, Re di Ponto at the Opera Rara Festival; and Tolomeo in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto at the Warsaw Chamber Opera.

He has appeared in the title roles of Siroe, Re di Persia and Amadigi di Gaula at the Handel Festivals in Karlsruhe and Halle. He also made his debut as Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice (Gluck) at the Pomeranian Philharmonic and performed as the Shepherd in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with L’Arpeggiata.

Rafał Tomkiewicz has worked with leading conductors such as Christophe Rousset, Laurence Cummings, George Petrou, Attilio Cremonesi, Jaime Martín, Jan Willem de Vriend, Dani Espasa, Christopher Moulds, and Benjamin Bayl. He has also performed with renowned ensembles including Les Talens Lyriques, Freiburger Barockorchester, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, {oh!} Orkiestra, Ensemble Zefiro, Ensemble Mare Nostrum, Bach Consort Wien, Capella Regia Polona, and the National Symphony Orchestra Dublin.

On 17 January 2026, Rafał Tomkiewicz will sing the title role in Giulio Cesare at the Salzburg State Theatre. Under the musical direction of Carlo Benedetto Cimento and staging by Chiara Osella and Carlo Massari, he will perform the role until 25 February 2026. On 8 February, Rafał will give a concert at the Royal Opera in Warsaw, and from 18 April 2026, he will sing Ottone in a new production of The Coronation of Poppea at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, directed by Karsten Wiegand with musical direction by Clemens Frick.
