In November and December 2025, Parnassus Arts Productions’ exclusive artist Max Emanuel Cencic (countertenor, festival director, and stage director) will appear in two of his signature roles.
On 8 November 2025, Max will perform the tailor-made role of Guido in Handel’s opera Flavio in concert at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, with Concerto Köln under the direction of Benjamin Bayl. The acclaimed Bayreuth Baroque 2023 staged production, directed by Max Emanuel Cencic, will be revived with Max in the role of Guido in December 2025 at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, with three performances conducted by Andris Veismanis.
In the title role of Handel’s opera Poro, re dell’Indie, Max Emanuel Cencic will appear in concert on 25 November 2025 at the MusikTheater an der Wien, with Oh! Orkiestra under the baton of Martyna Pastuszka.
This season, Max Emanuel Cencic will also give solo concerts at Schloss Budweis, in the spectacular Herkulessaal of the Royal Opera of Versailles, and at the Megaron in Athens.
As Tolomeo in Handel’s masterpiece Giulio Cesare, Max Emanuel Cencic will appear alongside Cecilia Bartoli at the Zurich Opera in March 2026.
As stage director for Vinci’s Alessandro nell’Indie, the successful Bayreuth Baroque 2022 production, Max will return to the MusikTheater an der Wien in April 2026 (and, of course, earlier for the revival rehearsals).
In June 2026 and September 2026, Max Emanuel Cencic is preparing two of Handel’s unjustly lesser-known operas, in which he will sing the title roles on extended tours. In the coming years, Max Emanuel Cencic will also perform the title role in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Ulisse in Porpora’s Polifemo, as well as Guido in Handel’s Flavio, the title role in Handel’s Rinaldo, and naturally the title role in the highly acclaimed Bayreuth Baroque 2025 Cavalli rediscovery Pompeo Magno, directed by Max himself.
