Biography
Exciting concert engagements await the young soprano Rinnat Moriah in the 2020/21 season. Rinnat will sing concerts in the Paris Philharmonic, at the Lugano Musica, in the Stuttgart Liederhalle, in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Rinnat’s central operatic role in February 2021 is Kassandra in the world premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino’s opera Il canto s‘attrista, perche? at the Klagenfurt Theater. Rinnat works regularly with the Stuttgart Philharmonic, Ensemble Modern, Rundfunk-Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, Slovenian Philharmonic orchestra, SWR, Scharoun Ensemble and the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
Rinnat Moriah sang at the Teatro alla Scala, at the State Opera, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, at the Theater an der Wien and at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
Her broad repertoire as a lyrical and coloratura soprano include roles such as Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), The Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), Gopopo (Le Grand Macabre), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Violetta Valery (La Traviata).
Rinnat Moriah performed at the Rossini Opera Festival, the Baden-Baden Easter Festival, the Pergolesi-Spontini Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Mörbisch Lake Festival, the Halle Handel Festival and the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
She sang concerts at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, at the Philharmonics in Berlin and Paris, at the Elbphilharmonie and at the BBC Proms with the Staatskapelle Berlin, Essen Philharmonic, Stuttgart Philharmonic, RSB, Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, New World Symphony , Lucerne Festival Strings and with the Ensemble Modern.
Rinnat Moriah also shows versatility with the baroque repertoire. Among many, she sang the German premiere of Porpora’s Polifemo, Traetta’s Ifigenia in Tauride, the role of Didone in Vinci’s Didone Abbandonata, the role of Eurilla in Handel’s Il Pastor Fido, as well as the two coloratura parts in Jommelli’s Fetonte.
Rinnat Moriah recorded the female lead in Boxberg’s opera Sardanapalus (1698) for Pan Classics.
With Berg’s Lulu Suite under Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Rinnat Moriah showed that the modern repertoire is in particularly good hands. She has sung numerous works by contemporary composers such as Elliott Carter, Sofia Gubaidulina, Harrison Birtwistle, Luciano Berio, Salvatore Sciarrino, Beat Furrer, Philippe Manouri, Johannes Kalitzke, Wolfgang Rihm, Vito Zuraj and Jacob Druckman and has recorded the coloratura soprano part in Dominic Argento's Postcard from Morocco. Several works were composed for her like Georg Katzer’s Das Kleine Latinum and Nadir Vassena’s Acque Perse.
Exciting upcoming performances in the 2021/2022 season include roles such as Julia in Künecke's Der Vetter vom Dingsda in the Klagenfurt City Theater and the soprano role in the world premiere of Carnival of Shades by the renowned Dutch composer Peter-Jan Wagemans in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
Rinnat Moriah works regularly with well-known conductors such as Karen Kamensek, Matthias Pintscher, Wolfgang Katschner, Guido Mancusi, Lahav Shani, Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, Donald Runnicles, Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Francois-Xavier Roth, Dan Ettinger, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Antonello Manacorda, Michael Tilson Thomas, Ingo Metzmacher, Johannes Kalitzke, Paolo Carigniani, Roland Böer, and Dan Ettinger together.
