Ray Chenez as Icarus in El Greco at the Megaron Athens

We are delighted to announce that our mezzo-soprano, Ray Chenez, will be singing the role of Icarus in Giorgos Hadjinassio's opera El Greco at the Megaron in Athens from 13 to 20 February 2024. The production is directed by Angela Saroglou, Nikos Vassileiou conducts the Novarte Symphonic Orchestra and for our artist, Ray Chenez, it is his first staged opera production in Greece. The performance dates in the Alexandra Trianti Hall are 13, 15, 17 and 20 February 2024.
In addition to his role debut as Icarus, Ray Chenez will take on further exciting engagements this year in Milan, Glyndebourne, Bayreuth, Paris, Rennes and others. In March 2024, Ray will sing the alto role in Bach's St John Passion under the direction of Ruben Jais at the Milan Auditorium and Milan Cathedral. From 23 June to 23 August 2024, Ray Chenez will make his house debut as Nireno in Handel's Giulio Cesare at the Glyndebourne Festival under M° Laurence Cummings. Ray will make his Bayreuth Baroque debut as Medoro in Vivaldi's Orlando Furioso under the direction of Francesco Corti. At the end of 2024, Ray Chenez will return to Paris and Rennes in his signature role of Nerone in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea.
In summer 2023 Ray Chenez made his debut as Sesto in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito at the Plovdiv Festival. Ray has already sung the Mozart role of Cherubino at Pacific Opera Victoria and Nickel City Opera. Ray Chenez appeared as Irina in Etvös' Try Sestri at the Frankfurt Opera. Ray Chenez appeared as the housekeeper Berta in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Opera de Montpellier and thrilled audiences with the Tango de la Manegilda in Rafael R.
