Our exclusive artist, countertenor Nicholas Tamagna, sings the role of Refugee in a new production of The Flight at the Oldenburg Staatstheater since the premiere date of 23 September 2023 under the musical direction of Vito Cristofaro and directed by Kobie van Rensburg. Nicholas' guest engagement in Oldenburg runs up to the 26 November 2023.

Other highlights in Nicholas' 2023/24 calendar include appearances as Casimiro (November 2023) in Caldara's Il Venceslao in Herne, the title role of Orfeo (April 2024) in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at Tel Aviv Opera and his San Francisco Opera debut as Armindo (June 2024) in Handel's Partenope.

Nicholas recently enjoyed great success in the title role of Legrenzi's opera Il Giustino (May 2023) at Pinchgut Opera Sydney, as Polinesso (February 2023) in Handel's Ariodante at Tel Aviv Opera and singing the alto role in Handel's Messiah (March 2023) at the Auditorium Milan.

Nicholas has sung in previous seasons and will return to the stages in future seasons in his standard roles as Tolomeo in Giulio Cesare, Timagene in Alessandro nell'Indie, Disinganno in Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, Akhenaten in Akhenaten, Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice and many more.
