I am very pleased to announce that Sonja Runje, contralto and Parnassus Arts Productions exclusive artist, will perform her signature role of Disinganno at the Theater Mainz in Handel's Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno. She has already sung this role in February 2020 at the Opera national de Montpellier. A total of 10 performances are scheduled until July 22, 2022 directes by Carlos Wagner and under the musical direction of Hermann Bäumer.

Appearances this year include Bradamante in Vivaldi's Orlando Furioso at the Dortmund Klangvokal Music Festival, the alto role in the Matthew Passion at the Varazdin Baroque Music Festival, Tolomeo in Handel's Giulio Cesare at the HNK Rijeka and at the Savonlinna Festival, the title role of Griselda by Bononcini, followed by a solo concert from the same composer and Flora in Albinoni's festive cantata Il Nascimento dell'Aurora at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival 2022. She will also sing Erenice in Caldara's opera Il Venceslao, which will be shown in concert at the All'Improvviso Festival in Gliwitz and at the Theater an der Wien (house debut) in November 2022.

Sonja Runje works regularly with well-known conductors such as George Petrou, Christian Curnyn, Ruben Dubrovsky, Niksa Bareza, Martyna Pastuszka and Rüdiger Lotter. Sonja Runje's repertoire list includes alto and contralto roles such as Isabella in L'Italiana in Algeri, Amastre in Serse, Carmen, Bradamante and Alcina in Orlando Furioso, Cherubino, Tolomeo, Cesare, and Cornelia in Giulio Cesare, Octavia in L'Incoronazione di Poppea, Matilda in Ottone, Calipso in Polifemo and many other.
