Parnassus welcomes tenor Manuel Günther
We are thrilled to announce that German tenor Manuel Günther recently joined Parnassus for worldwide management.
Manuel Günther was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Hamburg State Opera, where he had the opportunity to perform a variety of roles.
The tenor has made guest appearances at renowned opera houses such as the Berlin State Opera and the Komische Oper, the Saxon State Opera in Dresden, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Theater an der Wien in Vienna, the Polish National Theater Wielki in Warsaw and the Flemish Opera Antwerp & Ghent. He also appeared at the Salzburg Festival (Young Singers Project), the Glyndebourne Festival and the Festival of Early Music in Innsbruck.
Roles in various operas include: Tamino (The Magic Flute), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Il Conte d'Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Pedrillo (The Abduction from the Seraglio), Osman (Handel's Almira), Baron Kronthal (Der Wildschütz), Tanzmeister, Brighella & Scaramuccio (Ariadne auf Naxos), Helmsman (The Flying Dutchman) and many more. Manuel Günther has gained broad experience singing concerts with conductors such as Alessandro De Marchi, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Cornelius Meister and Ekkehard Klemm. Well-known oratorios are part of his repertoire: Mendelssohn's Paulus, Handel's Messiah, Bach's St. Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio and The Creation by Josef Haydn.
One of his upcoming engagements will be his return to the Hamburg State Opera with Bach's Christmas Oratorio. He continues as Pedrillo at the Semperoper Dresden as well as a tour in China with the Hamburg State Opera in March 2020. Roles such as David in Die Meistersinger of Nürnberg, Andres in Wozzeck and Walther von der Vogelweide in Tannhäuser are in preparation.
In 2018, the tenor made his debut in Graz and at the Wiener Musikverein, the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Last but not least, Manuel Günther has been a permanent member of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich since the 2017/18 season.
