The young Croatian contralto Sonja Runje, who recently joined Parnassus Arts Productions, awaits an exciting season 2019/20!
After her debut at the Salzburger Festspiele last June and her debut role as Isabella in Rossini's L'Italiana in Algeri, she will sing in the upcoming week the contralto part in Elijah in Szombathely and Varazdin. Sonja continues the Baroque repertoire with Bradamante in Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso performing at the Tchaikovsky Hall Moscow, Megaron Athens and Salle Seine Musicale in Paris. Other roles are Disinganno in Handel's Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno at the Opera National de Montpellier and Tolomeo in Handel's Giulio Cesare at the HNK Rijeka and the Savonlinna Festival.
In December, Sonja will kindle Christmas feelings in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at Athens' Megaron. In May 2020 she will return to the Zagreb National Theatre as Albina in Rossini's La Donna del Lago. More concerts and new CD recordings are on the way.
